
The Best tips for work-at-home mamas!
As a work at home mom myself with three children. I get how hard it can be to get work accomplished when working from home. I’ve rarely had childcare. And so getting the most out of my work days at home is essential to running my photography and blogging businesses.
Here are my 5 simple tips that I’ve found to be most helpful.
1. Have a running to do list. I could not function with out a to do list. Every night I write out what needs to be done the next day, week, or so on. Then choose the top 3 things that are most important and do those first.
2. Be flexible with the routine. It will change everyday. Work in short bursts. Take little 10 minute breaks to give the kids your full attention seems to really help.
3. Have a new activity or toy for them to play with. This will help keep them busy. Maybe for only a short amount of time. But it all adds up through the day. Depending on age, but my kids love kinetic sand so much!
4 .Noise cancelling headphones are a must. I haven’t yet purchased these, but have only heard great things about them!
5. Get a gym membership. This might seem silly, but some gyms provide 2-3 hours of childcare included in the membership. You can get a short workout in and then use your laptop to work while they are still in the childcare. Plus I always feel more alert and productive on days I workout!
